Make Sure We Can Find You – When Every Second Counts!

Picture this: It’s 2 a.m., and you’re having the worst chest pain of your life. You call for an ambulance, and the EMTs are racing to your house. But there’s a problem… Your address is written in tiny, faded numbers that would make an eagle break out the reading glasses. Not exactly ideal, right?

Help us help you—FAST! When you’re facing a medical emergency, minutes feel like hours.

EMTs need to find your house quickly and easily. Here’s how to make sure they’re not playing “Where’s Waldo?” with your address:

Roadside Mailboxes: SIZE MATTERS: Go big or go… well, possibly unseen. Those cute 1” numbers might work fine for the mailman who’s creeping along at 2 mph, but EMTs are on a life-saving mission! Think 3” reflective block-style numbers — no cursive, no glitter fonts, nothing that requires a PhD in deciphering.

VISIBILITY IS EVERYTHING: Make sure your numbers contrast with the color of your mailbox or post. And if your mailbox is rocking more stickers and flowers than a high schooler’s diary, make sure the numbers aren’t buried in the bling! Also, if you live on a street where the ambulance could approach from either direction, number both sides of your mailbox or post.

On Your House: BIGGER IS BETTER: Your house sits farther back from the road, so let’s supersize those numbers. Go for 4”–6” high digits in a color that practically yells, “I’m right here!” Skip the fancy brass or swirly fonts—this isn’t an art show; it’s an emergency.

KEEP IT CLEAR: Flags, decorations, and twinkling holiday lights are great—unless they turn your address into a scavenger hunt. Keep those numbers visible and easy to read, day or night.

Remember, making your address easy to spot could be the difference between a speedy rescue and a game of hide-and-seek. So, make your address stand out like a neon sign saying, “Help’s Needed Here!”
